Polyamide (PA)
Polyamide (PA) bristles for brushes, painting brushes and brooms
Polyamids are plastics with high melting point and excellent mechanical characteristics, they have high heat stability, so they can be used in wide temperature interval. They have good fatigue strength, damping capacity, slipping capacity and wear resistance. Our products are made of PA 6.0 and PA 6.6 types.
Physical and chemical characteristics
Density: 1.14 g/cm3
Melting point: 210 - 215 ºC
Heat resistance: 130 - 140 ºC
Chemical resistance (at 20 °C)
Chemical resistance of the polyamides is limited, alkalis and mineral acids attack them still in relatively low concentrations.
Water solutions of organic acids (oxalic acid, lactic acid) disintegrate them, too. Most of organic dissolvents do not dissolve them. They have a relatively slight resistance against oxidating agents.
Fields of application
Household and body-care brushes, brooms, industrial and technical brushes.

Profile types
Polyamide bristles are available with the following types

Colours
Our standard colours are given in our colour sample collection. In case of significant quantity is demanded, also new colours can be manufactured.

Stabilization
Mechanical characteristics (bristle stiffness and abrasive resistance) of products are to be changed if affected by moisture. As rate of water absorption of material is significant, we treat our polyamide fibres with hot steam in a chamber which is developed specially for polyamide to avoid subsequent deformation.
Packaging
fibre diameter 0.20 – 0.50 mm: PE foil tube with bundle diameter 55-57 mm
fibre diameter above 0.50 mm: wrapped with PE foil with bundle diameter 60 mm
